Abstract

|
The fact that the respiratory function and emotional tensions are closely correlated and the influence of emotion upon the respiratory function are well known. This category includes various psychophysiologic disturbances of breathing apparatus, such as bronchial spasm, hyperventilation syndromes. sighing respiration, hiccoughs and asthma. However, only psychological aspects of hyperventilation and asthma were reviewed since systematic studies in this field have been limited.
The skin is an organ of the body which readily and visibly betrays many variations in feeling tone. The skin diseases upon which emotional factors influence were grouped into three categories and psychological aspects of each diseases were reviewed.
